CBSE Board Practical Exams 2025: Guidelines and Key Instructions

The CBSE practical exams for Class 10 and 12 for the 2024-25 session started on January 1, 2025, and will continue until February 14, 2025. To ensure the smooth conduct of the exams, schools, students, and parents must adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Exam Schedule

  • The practical exams/internal assessments/projects will be conducted within the prescribed timeframe of January 1 to February 14, 2025.
  • Each school will follow its own schedule for conducting these assessments.

2. Daily Marks Submission

  • Marks must be uploaded on the same day the assessments are conducted.
  • Students will be awarded marks based solely on their performance in the assessment.
  • Schools, internal examiners, and external examiners must ensure that the uploaded marks are accurate, as no corrections will be allowed after submission.
  • Principals must verify all marks before final submission to avoid errors.

3. Authorized Examiners

  • Class 12 Practical Exams:
    • Only external examiners appointed by CBSE are authorized to conduct the exams.
    • Schools cannot appoint alternative examiners locally.
  • Non-compliance:
    • If unauthorized examiners are used, the assessments will be declared null and void.

4. Laboratory and Infrastructure Arrangements

  • Ensure that laboratories are equipped with the necessary materials, infrastructure, and equipment.
  • Confirm that sufficient practical answer books have been received before the exams.
  • In case of shortages, schools must contact their CBSE Regional Office promptly.

5. Communication with Parents and Students

  • Schools must inform students and parents about the schedule of practical exams well in advance.
  • Clear communication will help ensure compliance with CBSE guidelines.

6. Provisions for Children with Special Needs (CWSN)

  • Schools must make appropriate arrangements for students with special needs to ensure they can participate comfortably in the exams.

7. Important Notes for Schools and Students

  • No Exemptions for Sportspersons:
    • Students participating in national or international sports events must take the practical exams as per schedule. Separate exams will not be conducted for them.
  • Examiner Responsibility:
    • Practical exam answer books include an undertaking for examiners to confirm adherence to the maximum marks and CBSE instructions.
  • Non-Compliance Risk:
    • CBSE reserves the right to cancel practical exams if the prescribed instructions are not followed.
